Pottery Wheel Classes

Catch the excitement of the pottery wheel as you find your inner artist. During this one time class our instructor will guide you through the process of throwing on the wheel including how to wedge, center and pull the walls of your vessel. The Class Fee includes two firings- one bisque firing and one glaze firing for the vessel you create as well as your return visit to the studio anytime during studio hours three weeks later to glaze your masterpiece.

We offer these classes for both children and adults. Our classes are small so register early!

(2 to 3 students maximum per class)

Choose a day:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Choose a time slot: 6pm, 7pm or 8pm

Next 4 week classes begin Apr. 4th 

Cost: $100 plus hst 4 consecutive classes once per week or

$28 per class

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday at 6, 7 or 8pm

Buy as a gift and your recipient can schedule their class on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 6pm, 7pm or 8pm.

Each class includes 1lb of clay and one turn on the wheel. If time permits a 2nd turn may be purchased for an additional $10.

**No Walk-ins** You must pre-register.

Wheel Rental, Clay, Tools, Paint & Firings

You must take atleast one class with a Ceramics Canada teacher to ensure you know the basics of the wheel before signing up to use the wheel on your own.

In Studio Wheel Rental:  $5 per half hour

Keep in mind clean up must be done before leaving and is to be done during your rental time.  Allow approximately 10 minutes for clean up.

Tools

An 8 piece tool kit may be ordered for $12.  You may rent the tools for $3 per session.

Clay for Pottery Wheel Use

1lb   $10

each additional lb upto 5lbs  $5

each additional lb from 6 to 10 $3

Minimum 1lb purchase

We cannot guarantee your piece will survive the bisque firing.  Trapped moisture may result in the piece cracking or exploding.  Pieces should be no thicker than 1/4" thick. Most pieces take anywhere from 7 to 14 days to fully dry. 

Firings

Bisque firing is included in the clay purchase for average regular size pieces. 

Oversized pieces will have an additional fee.

Glaze and Firing

$8 Studio Fee per 3lbs of clay

(up to 2 hours of painting, use of brushes, glaze and glaze firing)
